CVAP Counselling

(Crime Victims Assistance Program)

Do you know the BC Crime Victim Assistance Program provides FREE counselling benefits to eligible victims, their immediate family members and applicants who meet the definition of ‘witness’ under the Crime Victim Assistance Act?

You may be eligible for:

  • 48 hours counselling (for victims)
  • 36 hours counselling (for immediate family members), and
  • 12 hours counselling (for witnesses)
Some crimes may be against people (for example, hitting, threatening, stalking, sexually assaulting, or killing someone). Other crimes may be against property (for example, stealing someone’s car or breaking someone’s windows).
If you are a victim of a crime, the first step is to ensure the safety of yourself and your loved ones. Besides calling 911, you can also call VictimLinkBC at 1-800-563-0808.
BC Crime Victim Assistance Program assists victims, immediate family members, and some witnesses in coping with the effects of violent crime/assault. It also provides financial benefits to help offset financial losses and assist in recovery.
All you have to do is, filling the Application form and submit it (online or paper form). We can help you in filling out the application form and submit it. You don’t have to wait for charges to be laid or for the offender to be convicted before applying for benefits. Getting support from CVAP does not mean you have agreed to press legal charges against the offender.

CVAP benefits also include:
