About Me

My life journey started in India and brought me to Canada more than a decade ago. In India, I accomplished Masters in 3 different subjects and practiced as a counselor in an Education institute and a Psychiatric center. To continue my professional journey as an efficient and experienced psychotherapist I decided to attend school in Canada and did my 4th Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University with flying colors.

Balancing school, work and family have only made me stronger as a person and an empathetic genuine psychotherapist. I consider it valuable that I can meet my clients where they are! I strive to provide them a safe, empathetic, confidential and respectful atmosphere where they feel validated and supported.

Being committed to my profession and clients, I keep updating myself by getting trained in research proven scientific therapeutic techniques which enable me to customize different therapeutic frameworks as per the client’s unique situation and needs. I humbly try to apply EMDR, Trauma-focused Art therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-focused Behavior Therapy, Narrative therapy, Client centred therapy and Mindfulness in coordination with the clients.

Being an immigrant myself, I can relate to the feelings, emotions and experiences of newcomers to Canada. I am multilingual and able to support the clients who are Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and/or English speaking.

My aim is to help clients develop self-confidence, promote insight, generate self-awareness and facilitate emotional growth to explore and live their life to its full. I believe that:

“We are all born with a divine fire in us. Our efforts should be to give wings to this fire and fill the world with the glow of its goodness”
