My life journey started in India and brought me to Canada after getting married to a Citizen. In India, I accomplished Masters in 3 different subjects and practiced as a counselor in an educational institute and psychiatric center. Being a mom of 3 kids without any family in Canada, I preferred to be a mom and wife after couple of years of my marriage. But very soon I realized that I cannot ignore my intellectual needs. I decided to go to school. It was a very challenging journey. Adapting to the Canadian education system was also not easy. It was amazing to complete another Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University with flying colors. Juggling with the real-life issues have only made me stronger as a person and an empathetic genuine psychotherapist. I consider it valuable that I can meet my clients where they are. I strive to provide them a safe, empathetic, confidential and respectful atmosphere where they feel validated and supported.
Being committed to my profession and clients, I keep updating myself by getting trained in research proven scientific therapeutic techniques. Accordingly, I am able to customize different therapeutic frameworks as per the client’s unique situation and needs.
I am proud to serve a diverse clientele from different cultures which also include new immigrants and refugees in the lower mainland of Vancouver. Being an immigrant myself, I can relate to the feelings, emotions and experiences of newcomers to Canada.
My aim is to provide clients with emotional security and comfort, promote insight, generate self-awareness and facilitate confidence to fight adversity in their lives. I believe that:
“We are all born with a divine fire in us. Our efforts should be to give wings to this fire and fill the world with the glow of its goodness”
